Skin Resurfacing

The skin undergoes change from stress, hormones, and exposure to the outer elements – sun and pollution. These stressors can make the skin look dull and less radiant by emphasizing fine lines and acne scars. Skin resurfacing treatments can help to smooth, tighten and brighten the skin, and bring back that youthful glow.

What is Skin Resurfacing?

Skin resurfacing is a nonsurgical, in-office facial rejuvenation procedure achieved with laser energy-based devices or chemical application to the skin to treat fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, age spots, acne scars, dark circles, crepey skin, and dullness. The procedure causes microdamage and triggers the body’s healing response to activate elastin, collagen and new skin. The treatments can be paired together, such as PicoSure laser with the Slyfirm X RF microneedling, to yield even more amazing results to achieve glowing, youthful skin.

  • Energy-based devices like the PicoSure Laser
  • Next generation RF Microneedling using Sylfirm X
  • Medical chemical peel like the ZO 3-Step Peel

At TVI MedSpa, we don’t follow a one size fits all program. We believe in a comprehensive and sustainable treatment plan that is customized to each client to deliver beautiful outcomes.

How does Skin Resurfacing work?

We offer medical-grade peels and laser resurfacing treatments to treat acne, melasma, sun damage, fine lines, texture roughness, large pores and dullness. The peel uses a chemical solution and the resurfacing laser uses energy, to reveal smoother, baby-soft “fresh skin” by removing the damaged outer layers and encouraging cell renewal.

How does Skin Resurfacing work with a Laser?

The PicoSure laser is the world’s first 755nm picosecond laser that effectively lightens and clears unwanted pigmentation by delivering ultra-short bursts of energy to the skin.  This photo-mechanical effect impacts in a pressure wave visibly clears skin pigmentation without impacting the surrounding tissues.  The PicoSure laser provides incredible skin resurfacing without the downtime that’s usually associated with traditional lasers. Using the Pico focus lens, the treatment uses the laser energy to precisely treat pigment and initiates the body’s own epidermal repair process to dermal repair and resurface the skin.  This treatment results in reduced wrinkles, address acne scars, pore size and resurfaces the skin for a brighter and more radiant complexion.

The Sylfirm X works well with the PicoSure laser for added benefits!

What are the benefits of Skin Resurfacing?

  • Treats brown spots, age spots, redness and discoloraion
  • Slow the effects of aging
  • Reduce fine lines and wrinkles
  • Shrink enlarged pores
  • Restore confidence

With skin resurfacing treatments, there is less downtime and excellent results.  Typically, clients initially need between 3 and 4 treatments, based on individual skin goals. Patient will usually continue to maintain their excellent results by continuing treatments once or twice annually. Even if you don’t have a serious skin concern, skin resurfacing treatments can be preventative. If you start early, you can keep your skin looking great for years to come.

How many sessions are needed for to see results?

As with many aesthetic procedures, consistent treatments can lead to better, longer-lasting results. However, for some patients, results are evident even after one skin resurfacing treatment. During your consultation, your provider will be able to put together a treatment plan and schedule that will best meet your needs, budget, and lifestyle.

How can Skincare help?

Skincare is an investment, just like medical-grade chemical peels and lasers. We recommend that our clients protect their skin and investments in more invasive procedures by supplementing with our ZO Skin Health program. The ZO Skin Health regimen is a comprehensive solution designed by a physician, for creating and maintaining healthy skin, regardless of age, ethnicity, unique skin condition or skin type.

Controindications?

Skin resurfacing is effective and suitable for all people who desire improvement on the surface of their skin.  However, it is not a good option if you have recently had facial surgery or other recent facial procedure. It is also important to be cautious with specific skin conditions such as psoriasis. Therefore, initial consultation is required, during which the patient and provider will design a custom treatment plan.
